HOW KAELION HELPS

Less work. Smarter energy use.

Kaelion is being built to move flexible energy use to better times automatically — without asking the user to watch prices and devices all day.

Kaelion does not optimize devices separately. It optimizes the home as a whole.

01

Lower energy costs

Heating, hot water, battery, solar and EV charging are coordinated around electricity price, forecasts and measured conditions.

02

Less manual control

The user defines comfort and practical limits. Kaelion handles timing and coordination inside those boundaries.

03

A more flexible electricity system

When flexible consumption moves away from scarce, high-price periods and toward times with more available energy, the home can support electricity-system flexibility.

An illustrative day with Kaelion

The exact actions depend on the equipment, configuration, forecasts and measured conditions in each home.

  1. Electricity is inexpensive

Hot water can be prepared when it is economical.

  2. Battery decision

Grid charging is used only when forecasts and expected demand justify it.

  3. Strong solar forecast

Unnecessary grid charging can be avoided when solar production is expected later.

  4. Solar production rises

Available solar can be directed to the home, heat, EV or battery within configured limits.

  5. Expensive or scarce period

Flexible loads can be reduced or delayed while previously stored energy is used.

  6. EV charging window

Charging can be scheduled to finish before the user-defined departure time.

FLEXIBILITY

When the home can flex, the electricity system benefits too.

More available energy / lower price

Flexible consumption and storage can be increased when doing so is useful for the home.

Scarcer energy / higher price

Flexible loads can be delayed and stored electricity or heat can be used instead.

This is household demand flexibility. Kaelion does not currently participate in Fingrid reserve markets.
